About Us

With over 40 years of combined experience creating teams and developing leaders in the youth and family sector, we understand that impact doesn’t happen by accident. It comes through intentional investment in our most significant resources who are the people on our teams.

We like to call this method people-vesting, which is at the core of what we do because we believe people are worth the investment.

Since we have perfected this method in an industry that is known for low budgets, high turnover, and a large volunteer workforce, we are well-equipped to help teams identify and address areas where poor morale, division, and burnout are hindering productivity and impact.

With people-vesting as the focus, we can help you bring your team together to maximize their positive impact and fulfill the organizational mission. As a result, your employees thrive, your clients are well cared for, and the organization benefits.

Our Services

We provide organizations with personalized team experiences that we like to call Development Camps.

We work with you to identify the most pressing need for your group and develop a team-building package that meets that need. While keeping the focus on investing in people, our Development Camps address issues like low workplace morale, team division, burnout, and interpersonal conflict. Check out the testimonials of what some of our clients had to say.

While all of our experiences are personalized to our client's needs, we do offer a specialized training package just for summer camp and after-school programs as well as a character development curriculum for students.

Whether you are a small business, a large corporation, or an after-school and summer camp program in need of a personalized team-building experience for your people, contact us to discuss how we can serve you.

Make sure you check out the testimonials to see what our clients had to say.

SUMMER CAMP AND AFTER-SCHOOL

FOCUSED TRAINING

We have developed a complete training package for after-school and summer camp programs. It has proven to shift negative mindsets, build unity among staff, and make programs overall better for students and staff.

Below is a list of sessions in the training.

Contact us for more information.

This Is Who We Are

This training takes teams through a deep-dive exploration of the importance of building a positive team culture. Groups work through fun and interactive games as well as activity prompts that will help them know themselves and their teammates better, define common values they can rally around for the workplace, challenge them to be collaborative and responsible and teach them the importance of protecting the culture so that it translates well to those they serve.

After the completion of the training, staff and/or volunteers will be equipped to effectively work as a cohesive unit, take ownership of their responsibilities, and better serve those your organization seeks to influence. This will increase productivity, drive your mission forward and help you make the most impact.

setting the environment

With the understanding that setting the environment is foundational to the entire camp experience, this training introduces principles that help create a stellar environment for campers, counselors, and families. Attendees will be guided through enjoyable interactive material that equips them to build a fun and safe environment where students flourish, families engage, and staff is committed to reaching their highest potential.

The organizational return on investment is realized in this: When the environment is properly set, enrollment and retention increase, and the organization has greater opportunities to make a lasting impact.

Pay Check to Purpose

This training focuses on the individual team members. It takes them through an intensive self-reflection that drives them to see the value of being part of something bigger than themselves. Attendees also engage in interactive games and activities that focus on individual strengths, giftedness, and unique personal experiences. Through this, team members learn how they are perfectly positioned to serve the greater mission of the organization and show up to work every day with purpose rather than simply loitering for a paycheck.

The organizational return on investment is realized in this:

When the internal drive of an employee or volunteer changes to reflect purpose rather than simply checking a task box,

staff turnover decreases, investment and output increases, and there is no doubt that the organization will see increased impact.

purposeful play

It’s about fun for the campers/students and about impact for the facilitators. In this training, attendees will learn how to turn anything, from games to conflict, into a teaching opportunity. The session will be filled with hands-on activities and scenario-based practice that teaches camp counselors and after-school staff how to play on purpose.

The organizational return on investment is realized in this: Through purposeful play, campers are both engaged and learning. This can lead to fewer discipline problems, more peer-to-peer connections, and overall contentment among the students and families you serve. Not only can the organization see higher enrollment rates, more positive referrals, greater family retention, and less overall stress to staff and families, but by being intentional with play there are increased opportunities to make lasting impacts on the lives of those you serve.

Power of Engagement

We understand that power can’t flow through a disconnected source like impact can’t flow through a disengaged staffer. That’s why this training focuses on the why and how of engagement. Attendees will be taken through activities and discussions that will show them what happens when they decide to purposefully engage with the students and families whom your organization serves.

The organizational return on investment is realized in this: When your employees and volunteers are engaged, it means they are invested. Invested staffers take ownership of their role which results in efficiencies within the organization as a whole and opens wide the path to make the most impact.

3 Start Students™

What is  3 Start Students™

The 3 Start Student™  is a curriculum that was strategically designed to help students discover they have tremendous value, realize their potential, and live with purpose through hands-on activities that relate to a main talking point for each lesson.  We have seen that this method helps the main ideas become more tangible for the students ensuring better retention and internalization.

Envisioned Future:

Through the benefit of the 3 Start Student™ curriculum the envisioned future is one of peer leaders, higher academic success, minimized classroom disruptions, raised self-esteem, greater responsibility among students, lower instances of bullying, and an overall improved sense of wellness among the students of the next generation.

Proven results

Through a four-year pilot program at a local (to the developers) elementary school that implemented the 3 Start Student™  curriculum, we have many stories of the impact it can have on students.

Here are just a few:

  • A 5th-grade student who had always had D’s and F’s raised his grades to C’s and B’s after going through the 3 Start Student™ curriculum.  When asked what changed the student replied “I finally believed I could do better.”

  • Midway through the curriculum, a 4th-grade student during one of our discussions informed the group that he had no friends.  Instantly everyone from this diverse group began reassuring him that they would be his friend.

  • A 4th grade student had finally received an award named “Terrific Kid” at the end of the school year.  At the ceremony, the teacher described a lot of the changes she has seen in this student over the course of the school year.  Changes such as making better choices with his friends, being more responsible with his school work, and being more of a leader in the classroom.  These were ideas taught through the 3 Start Student™ curriculum.
